PRINCETON, N.J. (April 21, 2018) – Director of Track and Field
David Oliver and the Howard University Men's & Women's Track and Field teams produced a dozen Top 10 performances at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University.
The two-day event (April 20-21) took place at Weaver Stadium where over 100 collegiate teams competed.
Among the performances were three in the Top 3, led by sophomore
Uchechi Onuoha.
On the women's side, Onuoha finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:01.24 time. She also placed fifth in the 100 hurdles, clocking in at 14.12. With both efforts, the Pennsylvania native advanced to the IC4A/ECAC Championships in May.
Junior
Aliyah Hale also took part in the women's 400 hurdles where she placed eighth overall (1:02.19). The Los Angeles product also found herself a spot at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
Hale and Onuoha joined sophomore
Sydney Benson and newcomer
Ozioma Scott in the women's 4x400 relay where they claimed third place with a 3:46.27 mark, reaching the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
Freshman
Jessika Gbai had two top 10 finishes in the women's 100 and 200 meters. She placed third in the 100 meters (12.07) and sixth in the 200 meters (24.53) while earning spots in both events at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.

Taleya Harris and freshman
Zachyre Lynn Lane in the women's 4x100 relay where they fifth overall (46.80) while securing a slot at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
In the women's field competition, senior
Dominique Cleggett finished fourth in the long jump (5.80 meters) and clinched a spot in the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
On the men's side, junior
Kenneth Chigbue and
Korey Lombard led the way.
Chigbue and Lombard placed sixth (21.68) and 10
th (21.88), respectively, in the men's 200-meters. As a result, both Bison will run at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.

Mekhi Closson finished fifth overall in the men's 4x400 relay after ending with a 3:17.65 mark.
In the men's field competition, senior
Landrie Hatcher landed himself ninth in the triple jump (13.34 meters).
