Athletic Development The Howard University Athletics External Operations Office in conjunction with the Division of Institutional Advancement is responsible for all HU Athletics fundraising initiatives. The External Operations Office shows individuals and organizations ways in which they can provide deserving young people with a quality education and first-class experience at HU.
Athletics operations are completely self-supported. All buildings and capital expenditures, including debt service, are funded by the department's generated funds. Without philanthropic support, the HU Athletics would not be able to offer our young men and women an opportunity to earn a highly respected degree while competing for championships.
The mission of the Athletics External Operations Office is to directly support the overall goals of the Howard University Department of Athletics by generating the necessary fiscal support for athletics scholarships, endowed and planned funds, and capital projects for student-athletes in all 19 varsity sports. It strives to embrace, educate and engage passionate Bison fans and supporters within the community to foster pride and excellence.
