WASHINGTON (February 25, 2018) – Coach
Ron Davis and the Howard University Women's Bowling team continued its winning ways on Day Two of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division Meet No. 3, hosted by the Bison at Potomac Lanes.
HU went 3-1 on the day and 6-2 overall over the weekend.
Before Sunday's five baker matches, Howard recognized 11 bowlers from across the MEAC Northern Division, including HU seniors
Kristyn Mitchell and
Sydney Reece.
After the Senior Day ceremony, Howard began the day facing division-leading Delaware State. HU fell to the Hornets, 986-818, and saw its three-match winning streak come to a halt.
Despite the tough loss, Howard rebounded and knocked off Coppin State, 788-762. Then, the Bison followed up with an 877-790 victory over Morgan State.
In their final conference match of the year, Howard battled and defeated the five-time National Championships Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks by only five pins, 901-896. The victory gave HU its first win over Eastern Shore this season.
HU returns to the lanes March 16-17 at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt.
