Bison Finish Strong at the Kutztown Invitational

Howard goes 2-1 on the final day; 6-6 overall

READING, Pa. (January 21, 2018) – Coach Ron Davis and the Howard University Women's Bowling team finished strong at the Kutztown (KU) Invitational where they went 2-1 on the final day.
 
HU dropped its first match in six against conference foe Morgan State (187-189, 165-174, 173-202, 206-201, 205-146, 179-184).
 
Howard and Bethune-Cookman (BCU) were deadlocked after four games, but the Bison pulled away to knock off BCU in six (149-144, 121-110, 163-190, 155-185, 162-158, 179-125).
 
In their final match of the tourney, HU faced Chestnut Hill College. Howard won the first two games, but Chestnut Hill took the next three and held a 3-2 advantage. Coach Davis and the Bison battled back and won games six and seven to take the match, 4-3.
 
HU wrapped the weekend going 6-6 overall.
 
McKendree won the 10th annual KU Invitational by defeating No. 4 Vanderbilt in seven. McKendree's Breanna Clemmer was named tournament MVP.
 
On Feb. 17-19, Howard goes to Towson, Md., for the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Towson University.
