SMYRNA, Del. (October 7, 2017) – After nearly three weeks away, Coach
David Oliver and the Howard University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams each finished third overall at the Delaware State (DSU) Pre-Conference Run in Smyrna, Del.
The ladies fell six points short from the top spot after four top 10 performances. Freshman
Destiny Stanford earned her second top five finish on the year by taking second in the event. The New Jersey native recorded a 19:39.6 mark in the 5K race.
After not competing in her last event, sophomore
Sydney Benson returned and placed sixth overall with a 20:47.1 time.
Freshman
Feven Fessehatzion and junior
Jade Hardy rounded out the top 10, finishing ninth and 10
th, respectively.
On the men's side, senior
Mohamed Bah led the way with his third top five performance of the season. The New York product earned a 28:06.8 mark in the 8K meet.
Freshman
Dartanyon Jones took 13
th overall after registering a 30:53.7 time.
For the third time this season, HU returns to Smyrna, Del. for the DSU Alumni Cross Country Run. The men race at 3 p.m., followed by the ladies approximately 4 p.m.
