READING, Pa. (October 14, 2017) – Coach
Ron Davis and the Howard University Women's Bowling team began its 2017-18 campaign with a 1-4 start at the Kutztown Bud Whitman Invitational. HU competed in five Baker matches, featuring two top 25 opponents.
Howard lost its tournament opener against No. 14 Saint Francis (Pa.), 1059-761. Then, the Bison fell short against Wilmington (Del.), 943-850.
Day one continued with a showdown versus No. 24 Youngstown State where the Penguins knocked off HU, 1026-874.
After three consecutive losses, the Bison broke through and earned its first victory of the year against Saint Peter's, 858-729.
Howard wrapped up the day with a loss versus Duquesne, 909-767.
Sunday, HU concludes the weekend with five traditional matches. Howard starts Sunday with No. 16 LIU-Brooklyn, then faces St. Francis (N.Y.) twice, Medaille and Caldwell.
