NORFOLK, VA --- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) released their preseason Volleyball honors and Division predictions this afternoon and the Howard University women's volleyball team was predicted to win the Northern Division title. All awards were voted on by the conference's head volleyball coaches and sports information directors. Howard garnered 69.2 percent of the first-place votes (18 of 26) and 170 total points to receive the first-place ranking.
The Lady Bison registered a 20-11 overall record last season, earned an 11-1 MEAC mark & share of the Northern Division crown and advanced to the MEAC Championship game under the direction of 2014 MEAC Coach of the Year
Shaun Kupferberg. Leading the way for Howard in 2015 are All-MEAC Second Team honoree
Khaila Donaldson and junior
Katherine Broussard. Donaldson returns for her sophomore season after leading the team in kills (393) and points (467) in 2014 while Broussard, who was named the 2013 MEAC Rookie of the Year, comes back after a solid season where she registered 318 digs and 227 kills.
Florida A&M University was selected to claim the Southern,Division.
Howard will open its 2015 campaign during the DC Volleyball Challenge on August 28-29, facing American (8/28), George Mason (8/28) and Georgetown (8/29) during the two-day event in Washington, DC and Fairfax, VA.,
